Celebrate International Cosplay Day at DCS Aug 25-26… costume contest & after party info
Please note, there will be a weapons check desk when you arrive. All prop weapons must be approved and tagged before being brought into the event.
The Costume Contest will be held Saturday at 6:00pm and is expected to run about an hour. We’ll be awarding child’s costumes during the contest too (at the beginning), so bring the kids in their coolest outfit and they might just win something. The Saturday contest is intended for advanced cosplayers, but all entries are welcome. Dallas Comic Show is a family-friendly event, so we expect all costumes to be respectful and appropriate for a family atmosphere. If you have concerns about whether or not your costume is acceptable, please contact us in advance.
On Saturday night, after the show, join Lori Walker for our official Cosplay After Party. Lori is a member of North Texas Cosplay, and the founder of Denton, TX Cosplay. Her goal is to motivate cosplayers in this area to be active, and have more events created in the Lewisville/Denton area… guess we’re helping out there! She is having a gathering at Game Changers Arcade Bar and Grill and general meetup this Saturday, August 25th – costume contest there too! They’ll have prizes from Rose Costumes, and Game Changers themselves. You can find out more info at the official Facebook Event Page, held immediately after the show. This is going to be a fun way to hang out in the evening, and wear your favorite costume. For more information on the event, visit the official Facebook event page here. Don’t forget, Cosplay Contest at the show on Saturday at 6pm presented by Who Needs Sleep and Funimation, and then party at Game Changers right after!
