F.A.Q. (Dec 21st)
Got a question about DALLAS COMIC SHOW on December 21st, 2024? Whether you’re a seasoned con pro or a first-time attendee, this is a great resource page to find answers for any and all questions you might have. If you can’t find the answer here, chances are we don’t have it! But never feel nervous about asking one of our friendly crew members something during the show, we’re here to help you and find ways to make your experience as fun and hassle-free as possible.
WHERE IS IT? – DALLAS COMIC SHOW is held inside The Vista Mall (formerly Music City Mall) in Lewisville, TX. This is a large-size shopping mall, park at Entrance #3 on the back side to the left of the Cinemark Movie Theater. Come inside entrance 3, lower level) and go straight into Center Court, you can’t miss us. We’re just past the escalators. The physical address of the mall is 2401 S Stemmons Freeway – Lewisville, TX 75067 (when exiting 35, take the Hebron exit)
HOURS – Show hours are 11:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday – panel schedule is RIGHT HERE.
CASH OR CREDIT? – One of the most frequently asked questions we get is “Do guests (or vendors) take credit cards?” Most will want CASH, as sometimes credit card readers don’t work or get bad signals, and it’s just easier to deal with cash, so PLEASE bring cash. There are ATMs on site, but they charge a fee. Registration is cash only on site too. So do yourself and everyone else there a favor… bring cash. You’ll thank us later.
CHILDREN and FAMILIES – families are welcome, but we ask that children are strictly supervised. These shows are filled with valuable collectibles, and some can be easily damaged if not handled properly. If your child wants to look at something, please keep this in mind.
SOLICITING or SELLING – Unless you have been cleared by the Show Director to do so, or purchased a booth at the event, you are not allowed to solicit any business ventures or sell product on site. Anyone caught doing so will be ejected from the premises without refund.
GUESTS ATTENDING – You can see a full list of guests attending RIGHT HERE. Guests should be signing at their tables all day unless on a lunch break or in a panel. In some instances guests may be arriving later in the day or leaving early.
Q&A PANELS – You can find the schedule of Q&A panels along with show opening and closing hours RIGHT HERE, though make sure to check on site in case there are any last-minute changes.
AUTOGRAPHS and PHOTO OPS – For media guests, most charge a fee to sign either their photos or your items. When we know those prices up front, we post them on their spotlight pages. If you don’t see pricing, it’s probably because they haven’t told us yet. Most media guests charge between $30 to $60 for an autograph (in some cases more), and in certain instances select items may require an up charge. In certain cases guest will offer “combo deals”, like buy two autographs for a reduced rate, or get an Autograph and a Photo Op for a combo price. When in doubt, ask the handler sitting with the guest. We are not offering professional photo ops at this event, all photo ops must be paid for and done at the guest’s table. Comic book creator guests sometimes charge a nominal fee for signatures, best to check with them first as some do and some don’t, though usually if you buy something off their table they’ll sign it for free. Special requests like sketches should be negotiated between the buyer and the creator.
BUYING TICKETS – General Admission for this show is FREE, but there is a VIP option available for $20, which you can read about here. We will stop selling the VIP passes online at 11pm Friday night (Dec 20), but you can also buy them at the door (CASH ONLY on site). We will have two separate lines to get in, our VIP line (which gets in first) and a General Admission line (which gets in at 11am). We’re also selling a limited number of VIP passes on site, and those will gain early entry on Saturday starting at 10:45am – all kids must be supervised by parents at all times. Please read this part (no one ever seems to) – when you purchase any tickets online, NOTHING will be sent to you, we will have a master list at WILL CALL. Just check in at WILL CALL with ID and we’ll get you taken care of. It’s that simple.
VIP vs. GENERAL ADMISSION? – we offer two different types of admission to this show. General Admission is FREE and will get you in during normal show hours, but VIP passes get in just a bit earlier (10:45am on Saturday, and 11:45am on Sunday), and VIP passes also get priority line placement for bigger guests… this means VIP goes first or heads to the front of the line (see staff for help if needed), followed by General Admission. VIP passes are limited and will likely sell out, we might possibly have a few for sale at registration (Cash Only). VIP passes also receive a swag bag filled with goodies. A VIP pass is not a requirement to attend the show or meet the guests, it simply offers a more premium experience for the buyer, and comes in really handy if a guest has long lines.
COVID-19 POLICY – we are not enforcing protective masks at this event, though we do still suggest you consider wearing them as we are in an enclosed space with several people close together. We will also have masks available free of charge if anyone forgets to bring one. If we observe you exhibiting behavior that indicates you are very sick, we may ask you to leave, so we’re counting on you to only attend if you are healthy and Covid-free.
CLOTHING – All clothing worn by attendees should be respectful and not contain any profanity or political statements, or you may be asked to leave. Dallas Comic Show encourages a wholesome and inclusive family environment.
FOOD AND DRINK – Food and drink will NOT be allowed on the show floor. Due to the tight space we’re working in on this event, we’re requesting all fans relax either in the food court or in our lounge area (under the escalators) should they wish to partake in food or beverages. Keep in mind, most vendors are selling collectibles, so food and drink around them is definitely not desired. The Mall’s food court is located just upstairs from us, very easy to get to.
ENTRANCE TO THE MALL – Like most malls, The Vista is big, but there’s one specific entrance you want to look for, and that’s Entrance #3, which is on the BACK side of the mall, lower level to the left of the Cinemark Theater building. You’ll want to drive in to the Southwest entrance of the mall parking lot, and look for the entrance on the back side of the Mall. All entry points to the mall are numbered, we are Entrance 3. Look for our banners on the front of that entrance. Come inside and veer slightly to the right, and you can’t miss us – we are in the Center Court, but just down the hall to Zion Market and the indoor children’s playground. Parking is FREE.
FLOOR MAP – this is our current floor chart for the show, which might be adjusted during show hours. This should give you an idea of where vendor booths are, where guests are, where the Q&A stage is, etc. …CLICK ON THE MAP BELOW TO SEE IT FULL SIZE.
